Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, told PBS NewsHour managing editor and anchor Judy Woodruff that Republicans are trying not to betray their emotions as House impeachment managers continue to present evidence for why the Senate should convict former President Donald Trump of inciting an insurrection for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Trump was impeached by the House in January, while he was still in office.

Trump told his supporters "to fight like hell" minutes before the Capitol attack, Hirono said, adding that Americans should broadly condemn "violent extremists in our own country."
