US support for Israel could potentially be tested today after it said it was "concerned" about reports American-supplied white phosphorus munitions were used in Lebanon.

A US official also hit out at footage appearing to show Palestinian detainees being, stripped and blindfolded - describing it as "disturbing".

Israel has said its soldiers are required to act "professionally and ethically" and it will "not compromise on this".
