While public health commissioner in Baltimore, Dr. Leana Wen said she was responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the city's school children. She worked to make vaccines and health services accessible to children through mobile clinics, experiences that are outlined in her new memoir, "Lifelines." Efforts to mandate the COVID-19 vaccines, and to improve access for busy parents, will help the public accept them as routine parts of childhood immunizations, she told PBS NewsHour correspondent William Brangham.
