Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy spoke to the nation and the world Friday about his call a day prior with U.S. President Joe Biden, in which reports said Biden warned an imminent invasion by Russia was a possibility.

Zelenskiy said that while the threat from Russia is "constant" and "imminent," it has been that way since 2014. He stressed they don't see a bigger escalation than has been seen before and there was no need for panic.

He also spoke on various negotiations and talks by other countries' leaders that are, according to Zelenskiy, sometimes done without him or Ukrainian officials present, saying he was confident Ukraine would make its own decisions and those made by others would be of an "illegitimate and temporary nature."

The comments came during a press conference just hours after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the country wants no war with Ukraine, despite amassing about 100,000 troops along Russia and Belarus' border with Ukraine.
