Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska appealed to U.S. lawmakers for additional help on Wednesday, as her country continues to fight off what she called Russia’s “Hunger Games.”

“How many children like him are there in Ukraine?” she asked, showing video of a three-year-old boy learning to use a prosthetic limb.

“How many families like this may still be destroyed by war? These are Russia’s Hunger Games,” she added, referring to a series of novels and books in which people are forced to hunt each other.

Zelenksa asked lawmakers for additional weapons that would allow Ukraine to bolster its air defence systems.

The United States has so far provided $8 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the war began in February, including $2.2 billion in the last month.
