Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke Thursday about election interference, responding to questions on how often he discussed foreign interference with his chief of staff, Katie Telford, during the 2021 election.

He said it was an ongoing discussion, that had also been spoken of with members of his government, and defence and security experts. The comments came as Telford is set to testify Friday before the House of Commons Procedure and House Affairs Committee investigating alleged interference by China.

The prime minister also discussed his relationships with the premiers of the Prairie provinces, given he had not met or had a planned meeting with Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe during his visit to the province. The prime minister stressed they had a good relationship and he had worked closely with Moe on figuring out health-care costs and $10-a-day daycare.
