Trudeau condemns verbal attack on Chrystia Freeland, calls it "cowardly behaviour"

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reacted to video circulating on social media of a man verbally attacking Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland in Grande Prairie, Alta. this past week, saying Sunday that it was "cowardly behaviour."

Trudeau went on to say people in public life are being subjected to harassment and threats at an increasing rate — even more frequently with specific groups, "particularly women, racialized Canadians, people of minority or different community groups… because of the increasing strength of your voices, your positions, the impact you're having around the world."

The prime minister called on political leaders to take a stance against these kinds of attacks.
