Tropical Storm Kompasu has left a trail of destruction on the Chinese island province of Hainan.
Heavy rains and strong winds brought down trees and power lines throughout southern China.
At least 19 people died in flash floods and landslides when it hit the Philippines earlier this week.
Forecasters say Kompasu is weakening as it moves towards Vietnam.
Al Jazeera's Rob McBride reports from Hong Kong.
