Texans overcharged $16 billion during winter emergency

The power grid company in Texas upon which critics nationwide are assigning blame in exacerbating the recent winter weather disaster that left 40 people dead is found to have overcharged customers $16 billion last month. Tobin Smith of Transformity Research joins RT America's Natasha Sweatte (in for Scottie Nell Hughes) to weigh in on what's next for the Lone Star State.

One of the last major moves former President Donald Trump did during the last few months of his administration was to nominate and confirm Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Three months later, she penned her first Supreme Court majority opinion. It shields federal agencies from having to disclose certain materials under an exception to the Freedom of Information Act. RT America’s Faran Fronczak has the details.

Plus, civil rights attorney Robert Patillo and political commentator Beau Davidson debate the wisdom of a proposed overhaul of the US election system aimed at strengthening early voting, registration and absentee ballots, as well as re-enfranchising former felons.
