Russian cruise missiles damaged residential buildings in Ukraine's capital Kyiv, including a hotel in the city centre, on Saturday. The strikes killed at least one person in Kyiv and injured more than a dozen in what one official described as "terror on New Year's Eve."
Mariia Musiienko, a 21-years-old economist, said she was in her room when she heard a loud explosion, after which "everything flew through the air."
"It was very scary... I don't know what to do now. I don't have any holiday mood whatsoever. But we will stay strong and somehow celebrate [The New Year] anyway," Musiienko added.
