A blockade on the Trans-Canada highway between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick has been cleared after a 17-hour protest over Nova Scotia's decision to maintain isolation requirements for travellers from New Brunswick.

Those rules don't apply for travellers coming from Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador.

Nova Scotia’s exclusive rules for New Brunswick is over that province’s decision to reopen to the rest of Canada, as well as drop self-isolation requirements for people who have received only a single dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Ross Lord reports on how tensions exploded on the very day that the four Atlantic provinces were set to reopen their borders to each other.
