Normally quiet in the hot summer, Port Sudan is unexpectedly crowded this year.
Some of those who fled the fighting in Khartoum and western Sudan have sought sanctuary in Port Sudan, and brought with them their money, skills and entrepreneurial spirit.
Residents have said they have never seen the city so energetic at the peak of summer and it is benefitting from the good ideas and economic contributions of displaced people.
