Families in Kazan, the capital of Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan, are making the most of the wintry weather at their city’s annual Snowman Festival. Parents and children have flocked to Uritsky Park during the new-year holidays and, between them, made some 25 snowmen of all shapes and sizes. This year, the organizers decided not to select a winner and, instead, awarded every participant a pair of mittens.
