The Snowman author Raymond Briggs dies

Author and illustrator Raymond Briggs had died aged 88.

Briggs was best known for the Christmas classic The Snowman, a book that tells the story of a snowman who comes to life.

It started life as a picture book in 1978 before being made into an animation four years later.
