As the five to 11 age group is the next to get their COVID-19 vaccination, Sesame Street's Big Bird is lending his voice to help kids prepare to get the jab while also trying to ease any fears they might have.
It's not the first time Big Bird or the show has been involved in vaccinations either. Sesame Street has tackled vaccinations in the past, in one case with the motto "don't wait, vaccinate" several decades ago, as well as having the yellow, feathered friend assist in a child immunization campaign.
As Katherine Ward reports, while politicians like U.S. Republican Sen. Ted Cruz called the move propaganda, experts say the actions will help spark important conversations.
