On Wednesday U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer took to the Senate floor to tout a deal reached on a $3.5 trillion dollar infrastructure bill.

He called it transformational and the most significant legislation for family support since the New Deal.

U.S. President Joe Biden's drive for big new infrastructure investment got a boost on Tuesday when leading Senate Democrats agreed on the $3.5 trillion investment plan.

Republicans have not been part of these negotiations.

Senator Schumer said he anticipates criticism from the GOP and a long road ahead, but promised to get the job done.

Separately, the Senate is working on a bipartisan plan focused on physical infrastructure.
