A residential school survivor in Saskatchewan says the weight of the pain he felt “is pretty well all lifted” after the head of the Anglican church’s official apology.
The Anglican church ran about three dozen of these schools in Canada between 1820 and 1969.
The Archbishop of Canterbury apologized to survivors on Sunday, and echoed those sentiments again during mass on Sunday.
Nathaniel Dove spoke to one survivor about what this apology has meant to him personally.
