During a meeting on the future of artificial intelligence (AI), Russian President Vladimir Putin asked Sberbank CEO Herman Gref if and when he'll be replaced by AI.

"I hope not in my lifetime but everything is going that way," Gref responded.

Putin compared this moment in time and the importance of incorporating this advanced technology to the Soviet Union's atomic bomb projects of the 40s.
