Oleksii Reznikov has stepped down as Ukraine's defence minister, less than 24 hours after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed he was replacing him with Rustem Umerov.

The major shakeup comes at a critical time in the war in Ukraine, as Reznikov held the position for more than 500 days since the Russian invasion began.
