The new Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Justice Minister Tyler Shandro will hold a news conference at the legislature on Tuesday afternoon. The fall sitting starts on Tuesday.

An Alberta news release states that the pair will discuss legislation "designed to defend Alberta's interests."

A long-promised, controversial law called the Alberta sovereignty within a united Canada act will be the first bill in the session.
