Poilievre says WestJet union is ‘trying to silence freedom of speech'

The union representing WestJet cabin crew is demanding an apology from the airline after Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre spoke on the public address system of a recent flight.

But Poilievre says it’s the union who should be apologizing.

His campaign-style speech lasted about 45 seconds and was met with laughter and cheers from passengers.

Many but not all of the people on board were delegates going to Calgary after a PC convention in Quebec City.
