During Monday's question period in the House of Commons, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre accused Liberals of worsening the burden of inflation on Canadians with the government's spending deficit.

"We know that Canada has the best economic performance of any country in the G7," Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland told the House.

Freeland also defended Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's business trips meeting with foreign leaders, while Poilievre claimed the timing is all wrong given the financial struggles Canadians are facing at home.
