Syria has been stripped of its voting rights at the global chemical weapons watchdog because of its repeated use of poisonous gas during the 10-year civil war.
The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) determined that Syria’s Bashar al-Assad regime used chemical weapons in three attacks on al-Lataminah in March 2017.
While 87 countries supported the sanction, 15 were against including Syria, Russia, China and Iran.
