Shots have been heard in an area in north Kosovo, where at least 30 gunmen have been surrounded by authorities hours after a patrol was ambushed in the area that killed one police officer, according to Reuters news agency.
The police officer was killed and another was injured earlier on Sunday in a shooting in the village of Banjska in the first such violence in months, which Prime Minister Albin Kurti claimed has the support from officials from neighbouring Serbia.

Al Jazeera’s Avni Ahmetaj reports from Kosovo's capital Pristina.
