President Biden says he is heartbroken and flags were lowered to half-mast after a police officer was killed in an attack at the U.S. Capitol.

The suspect drove his car into the two officers at a barricade outside the U.S. Capitol building.

Police say he then got out of the vehicle and ran at police with a knife, before he was shot and subsequently died.
