Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed victory in what he called a "[long] war on our home,” on Monday, as the Israeli Defence Forces’ (IDF) ground offensive in Gaza ramps up.

“I promise to all citizens of Israel, we will get the job done. We will press ahead until victory,” Netanyahu said in an address to the nation.

During his speech, Netanyahu acknowledged “painful losses” of Israeli soldiers — at least ten of which have died since their cross-border strike.

Since Oct. 7 — following an unprecedented attack in Southern Israel by Hamas — Israel has been bombarding Gaza daily, killing more than 8,750 Palestinians.

Rooted from the 240 hostages and some 1,400 killed by Hamas more than three weeks ago, Netanyahu has repeatedly promised to destroy the militant group.
