Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered his country’s military to prepare an evacuation plan for the city of Rafah, ahead of an expanded ground offensive in Gaza.
Israel says Rafah is the last remaining Hamas stronghold and that it needs to send in troops to complete its military aims of dismantling the militant group.
More than a million people are living in overcrowded conditions along the Egyptian border after fleeing Israeli airstrikes in the north.
And as Crystal Goomansingh reports, critics say it will be impossible to get everyone out.
