Wintery weather made one final return to southern Ontario and parts of the U.S. on Wednesday as a cold front moved through early in the week, setting the stage for a spring snowstorm.
Close to 20 centimetres fell in some spots of southern Ontario, and in the U.S., states were hit as far south as Kansas.
Icy roads were blamed for a 20-car pileup that shut down a ramp connecting two interstates near Detroit.
Below-average temperatures are expected to persist as far south as Texas and east into the Maritimes over the next couple of days. Ross Hull reports.
