In tonight's top story: Hundreds of hydro crews are busy across Ontario and Quebec working to restore power as quickly as possible following a spring ice storm. However, people are being warned there are so many lines to repair, which will take time, and residents should be prepared to spend at least another night without electricity. Mike Armstrong has that story.

Turning to the U.S., some 40 million Americans remain under severe weather warnings as destructive tornadoes lash parts of the country. As Jennifer Johnson reports, the National Weather Service indicates there have been 478 tornadoes in 2023 across 25 states so far.

Plus, the day after police and city crews moved in to clear a tent encampment on Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, some people have already returned, and many say they have nowhere else to go. But Vancouver isn't the only city dealing with unhoused people, as it's a North America-wide issue. Neetu Garcha reports on how Vancouver is trying to deal with this problem, though advocates are saying it's not enough.

The labour shortage in Canada's agriculture sector is already in a bad state, but it's poised to get worse. As Anne Gaviola explains, experts are warning that fewer workers could lead to even more food inflation.

And April 6, 2023, is a sombre day across Saskatchewan, as it marks five years since the Humboldt Broncos team bus collided with a semi northeast of Saskatoon.
