Friend of crash victims and Dauphin Senior Centre member Sandra Kaleta reacted to the deadly collision between a semi-truck and a passenger bus that killed at least 15 people from Dauphin and the surrounding area on Thursday.
Kaleta said the day trip planned to Carberry sounded like fun for her and her husband Glenn, but they ended up not going. Now they're waiting to hear whether their friends are alive and safe.
"Some of them I know quite well. They were talking about the trip on Tuesday. We play Scrabble every Tuesday. I think not knowing is the hardest part. I can't imagine what some of these families are going through," Kaleta said.
