Lithuania readies for a Russian assault if Ukraine falls

'We must be prepared' - the warning from Lithuania as Russian aggression linked to the war in Ukraine builds on the border with Belarus.

The south-western border of Lithuania has previously been referred to as "the most dangerous place on earth" and "NATO's Achilles' heel".

It is feared that if the war in Ukraine is lost, the Baltic nations could soon be attacked by Russia or its ally Belarus.
