Authorities in Italy are being overwhelmed by a flood of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers landing on Lampedusa in the Mediterranean Sea.
The island is a common stop on the migration route from North Africa to Europe, but in recent days, so many people are arriving that the government cannot keep up.
At least five people have died trying to reach Lampedusa's shores in the last 10 days.
Al Jazeera's Natasha Ghoneim reports from Lampedusa.
