A large volcano erupted in Iceland late on Monday, spewing lava and smoke into the air after weeks of intense seismic activity.

However, a volcanologist has said that the eruption is unlikely to disrupt air travel, although other forms of disruption are still possible.

Meanwhile, a man who had been evacuated from his home in Grindavik is worried about future eruptions.

“I don't see that in the near future, they will let people get close to Grindavik. So we are back in the waiting game.”
