Environment and Climate Change Canada alongside Nova Scotia officials, warned the public to "hunker down" on Friday ahead of Hurricane Lee arriving on Saturday.

Environment and Climate Change Canada's warning preparedness meteorologist Bob Robichaud said Friday that officials believe Southwestern Nova Scotia will likely experience the heaviest rainfall and some of the strongest winds.

Officials also said to have an emergency kit prepared, trim tree branches, fuel vehicles, ensure you have enough food, charge electronics in advance, and more.

Hurricane Lee is expected to become a powerful post-tropical storm on Saturday when it makes landfall on Canada's East Coast, officials said on Thursday. Residents in western Nova Scotia and southern New Brunswick are being told to prepare for power outages and flooding.
