The city of Montreal is reaching frenzied levels of excitement going into Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Monday.

Young fans are taking to the streets cheering for their team while the city has eased COVID-19 restrictions just in time to allow for such gatherings.

It's also a long time coming for those who have been fans for years as the last time the Habs made the finals was 1993, the year they also took the last Stanley Cup a Canadian team has seen.

Eric Sorensen takes a look at the history of the Habs, Canadian teams' Stanley Cup victories and why people are hoping a victory by the Canadiens could mean an end to a drought for the country's hockey teams.
