Residents of the Buhene district of Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo returned to their homes on Sunday after Mount Nyiragongo erupted the night before, sending many fleeing the area.
Some people found their homes in tatters, with rocks scattered in parts and some lava still glowing in areas.
The lava that erupted passed through the outskirts of the city of Goma, but stopped short of hitting the populous city but people still expressed frustration over the little warning they say they received before the eruption.
