For the first time in almost a month, the Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt has temporarily opened, allowing more than 300 foreign nationals and severely injured Palestinians to finally get out. Daniele Hamamdjian hears from some of the people who were lucky enough to leave, as Israel's ground operation in Gaza advances and desperation grows among those left behind.

More than two million people in the Gaza Strip have been severely deprived of essential goods for nearly a month, and the amount of humanitarian aid trickling into the region is far from enough. Mike Armstrong reports on the deepening humanitarian crisis, the fresh warning from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the lack of clarity on whether more than 400 Canadians will be able to get out of Gaza.

More than 200 people are still being held hostage by Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip, where Israel is trying to eradicate the Islamist group. Mike Drolet spoke with some of the hostages' relatives, who want the Israeli response to prioritize the safety and rescue of their loved ones over exacting revenge on Hamas.

The Houthi militia, a Yemen-based rebel group backed by Iran, is claiming responsibility for missile and drone attacks launched on southern Israel on Oct. 31, saying it's reacting to "brutal aggression" in Gaza. Mackenzie Gray explains what kind of effect the Houthis could have in the conflict.
