A volcanic eruption has opened up a massive, fiery fissure in southwestern Iceland, with nearby residents watching closely to see where the lava will flow. Redmond Shannon reports on what led up to the volcano finally erupting after weeks of intrigue, how long the eruption could last and the threat it may pose.

According to the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry, more than 20,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip since Hamas' Oct. 7 attacks on Israel, as international demands for peace grow.
