Fraud is exploding in Canada. Ontarians are hit especially hard

Canadians lost $416 million to fraud last year. The problem is the worst in Ontario, where the number of fraud reports is going up while the number of cases being solved is dropping. When charges are laid, only a fraction of cases are making their way through the criminal court system. Part 1 of CBC Toronto’s series, The Cost of Fraud, shines a light on why that’s happening and how it’s leaving victims empty-handed.
