1. A gunman opened fire night on the main campus of Michigan State University, killing three people and injuring five, before an hours-long manhunt for the suspect ended with his death, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot, police said.

2. The U.S. military said it had recovered critical electronics from the suspected Chinese spy balloon downed by a U.S. fighter jet off South Carolina's coast on Feb. 4, including key sensors presumably used for intelligence gathering.

3. Six survivors were rescued from the rubble in Turkey, eight days after a devastating earthquake, as the focus shifts to helping those who survived find shelter, food or a haven elsewhere.

4. Police in New York City have arrested a U-Haul truck driver accused of deliberately plowing into pedestrians on Monday, injuring at least eight people before officers chased him down and stopped the vehicle, authorities said.

5. Johnson & Johnson’s subsidiary shouldering talc-related lawsuits goes before a bankruptcy judge on Tuesday for the first time since a U.S. appeals court last month nixed the company's attempt to offload the litigation into Chapter 11 proceedings.
