Senior Egyptian officials have visited Libya's capital Tripoli for talks with the UN-recognised government, the Government of National Accord (GNA) for the first time since 2014.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi began supporting renegade military commander Khalifa Haftar in 2014 – who has been battling the GNA.
Some analysts say that the Egyptian side wants to normalise ties with the GNA.
