Delegation from Canada visits Taiwan as China wraps up war games

A delegation of Canadian MPs from all major parties is in Taiwan, in a gesture of solidarity amid rising tensions with China - which views the democratic territory as a breakaway province. China just wrapped up three days of war games around the island.

The visit, funded by Taiwan, will focus on a range of issues, including foreign interference directed by China. Tuesday, the delegation meets with Vice President William Lai Ching-te.

This visit comes after weeks of reports and revelations claiming that the Chinese government tried to interfere in Canadian elections and foreign interference like that is something Taiwanese officials say they have been dealing with for years.
