Ontario Premier Doug Ford asked people on Tuesday not to make big plans for Easter holiday, saying he "won't hesitate to lock things down" amid a concerning rise of cases and hospitalizations due to COVID-19.

Ford said he would consult with the public health advisors, but "everything is on the table" including a third province-wide lockdown.

The premier spoke from the Humber River Hospital vaccination clinic, which has more than 600 workers, with the ability to vaccinate 1,800 people a day as a beginning. He called on the federal government to increase its vaccine supply to the province, saying the instability in supply is the "biggest threat" for vaccination progress.

Ontario has administered more than 2.1 million vaccines, with nearly 80 per cent of residents 80-years-old and over got their first vaccine shot.
