Ontario is requesting help from the Canadian military as it grapples with a shortage of critical care nurses and doctors amid a devastating third wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

Doctors are being redeployed to bolster critical care in the province as intensive care units fill up with younger patients.

As Jeff Semple reports, doctors who volunteered after the province cancelled non-emergency surgeries are being retrained to work as critical care nurses.
