Alberta's COVID-19 crisis continues to become increasingly severe, as hospitals fill up amid mixed messaging by the province on vaccines. Now, maternal physicians and intensive care units are facing even more difficult decisions, as pregnant unvaccinated patients are also admitted in droves.

There have been 16 pregnant women in the past couple of months admitted to the ICU in Alberta. Some of their physicians say they have had to make tough choices, with five babies born pre-term in August. Jill Croteau has more.
