Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has refused to commit to keeping the pension triple lock.

Speaking after inflation rose to 10.1%, Mr Cleverly said he would not pre-announce the contents of the chancellor's financial plan on 31 October.

The pension triple lock, included in the 2019 Conservative manifesto, is a government commitment to increase pensions by wage growth, inflation or 2.5%, whichever is higher.
