U.S. vice-president-elect Kamala Harris was inoculated with her first dose of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
Afterwards, the vice-president-elect urged Americans to also get vaccinated when they first have the opportunity to do so.
Harris's husband Doug Emhoff will be receiving a dose of the vaccine as well.
The vice-president-elect said the experience was "relatively painless," adding that getting the vaccine is about "saving lives."
