The senator from California will become America’s 49th Vice President - and the first woman of colour to fill America’s second highest office.

Born in California to immigrant parents, Harris is a California senator and has served at District Attorney in San Francisco andAttorney General of California.

She will serve as Vice President under Joe Biden when they take office on 20th January 2021.
