U.S. President Donald Trump addressed Americans about the worsening COVID-19 crisis in the country on Friday, for the first time since the Nov. 3 election.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is now predicting that deaths could climb as high as 282,000 within the next four weeks.

But Trump touted the strong economy and attempted to paint a rosy picture about his administration’s plan to roll-out a COVID-19 vaccine, which he said would be coming “very, very soon.”

As Jennifer Johnson reports, even in conservative states mayors and governors are taking drastic measures to slow the spread of the virus.
