Canada's national police force is under strain and under the microscope. The inquiry into the Royal Canadian Mounted Police response to the 2020 Nova Scotia mass shooting is still ongoing.

After a series of investigations and lawsuits over sexual harassment, and amid accusations of political interference in the 2020 Nova Scotia massacre investigation, public trust is eroding in the RCMP.

Ross Lord explains why rebuilding that trust will be challenging, and some senior police managers are admitting drastic measures could soon be required just for the force to maintain services.
